<IN DEVELOPMENT>
As the sea is king of a thousand streams, true greatness is located at the converging place of all.
Not inside or outside, high or low, strong nor weak all great leaders are free of excess driven by acquisition and attachment (false heart), and all in their domain move toward harmony and universal peace. All excess is diminished to supplement the deficient. The Sage-leader, impartial, depends on natural flow toward peace; non-contention, achieving balance without mishap. The soft overcomes the hard; the yielding overcomes the solid and unbending.
The proper form of governing from the true heart accomplishes great harmony. Within all is the same true natural heart and alignment is the natural course, otherwise by entanglement of attachment all becomes unruly to govern. The Sage rules through natural alignment, tames the heart without force, and all things become transformed. Nothing bad can take hold.
The true heart of good and bad, as they share the same, will merge for the common good. Power depends on extent to which the true heart is gained.
Force inspires resentment and is applied only with caution and stops when it is enough, thus the benefit of cultivating heartfull alignment when ruling oneself and country.
To know proper action, the Sage holds to the central normality; the transforming path between opposites. To properly govern all is done in simplicity, free of acquisitive desire, and in an appropriate manor and behaviour. The Sage holds to the three treasures, Benevolence, simplicity and the courage not to be ahead.
All this is well known but few put it into practise. He who takes on the humiliation and disasters of mind, body and country are fit to lead. Getting rid of acquisitive attachments of the false heart is a formidable challenge.
The best leaders are known only of their existence. Spreading good words, all is achieved spontaneously. Facing inward conforms to spiritual law, outward displays compassionate awareness, and by natural law conforms to the limits of practical needs.
The best men follow a path of non-contending, best warriors are not aggressive, best employers place themselves below – all this is called the ‘power of engaging people’s forces without anger or aggression. Without contending the Sage can transform all things to great harmony.
The Sage sails against the current of acquisition towards emptiness, free of attachment, placing the value of the true heart above all possession. Letting go of attachment, including ‘acquired’ wisdom, as opposed to natural wisdom, keeps mind and body simple. The Sage becomes rich only as found proper by natural course and position.
Aligned with, and following the qualities of the true heart, the Sage’s great administration is wise and free of burden. Sage leaders take no more than what is due; inspiring all to attend in responsible service. Conversely showing off power incites greed etc. Good thought, word and deed held above, all will be served with humility and followed without feeling oppressed.
Already complete the Sage acts for no return, honours agreements without exacting his due and performs his part free of expectation.
As for the Worrier, the Sage is non-contending, non-contending there is no enemy to fight; all contentions are transformed to bring harmony. One who cherishes benevolence in armies of equal strength will be the victor.
